Insulation programmes keeping Coromandel homes warmer and drier
By Anonymous on May 01, 2014

Scoop.co.nz has reported (16/04/2014) that thousands of Coromandel people are now living in healthier, warmer homes thanks to two Government programmes that have provided home insulation.

Scott Simpson MP says that Warm Up New Zealand: Healthy Homes and Warm Up New Zealand: Heat Smart insulation programmes are contributing to a reduction in health risks for many Coromandel households.

Drier and warmer homes are better for a person's health. And people who are healthy do not need to spend money and time getting to the doctor or taking sick leave says Mr Simpson.

$100 million over three years was allocated to Warm Up New Zealand: Healthy Homes in the 2013 budget. 46,000 low income households, particularly families with high health needs or with children will receive free underfloor heating and ceiling insulation.

Scott Simpson MP says that he would like to give thanks to the organisations in the Coromandel for their ongoing support of the programme.
