Stuff.co.nz has reported (17/02/2016) that Waitara Initiatives Supporting Employment (WISE) has insulated 10,000 Taranaki homes for free and trained more than 300 people.

Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) who runs the Warm Up New Zealand initiative recognised WISE's milestone at a ceremony held on February 12 at Owae Marae.

Anaru Marshall, chief executive at WISE, said that the government identified around 30,000 homes in the Taranaki region that needed home insulation and that they still had a way to go to ensure the region was warm and dry.
