CHALLENGE
The newly built Rydges Hotel is located at the busy Wellington International Airport. With the Wellington airport area being exposed to the cold southerly winds and on-going loud noises, insulation with strong acoustic and thermal performance was needed.
SOLUTION
High performing Earthwool® glasswool insulation: external wall batt, R2.8 was installed to reduce outside noise while also achieving superior thermal efficiency. Earthwool® glasswool insulation: acoustic batt, 11kg/m3 was used to reduce noise between the rooms to maintain privacy. DriTherm® Masonry wall, R1.5 was also used in the masonry walls for its water resistance.
In the ceiling, Earthwool® glasswool insulation: ceiling batt, R2.9, and Earthwool® glasswool insulation: ceiling blanket, R1.8 were installed.

With a focus on great design, the new hotel in Wellington offers convenience and comfort for travellers in New Zealand’s capital city.
