Knauf Insulation have expanded their product portfolio to provide more solutions specific for New Zealand construction and more choice for builders and DIYers.
One of the latest products to be added to the Earthwool® glasswool range is an underfloor roll with a wind wash barrier. The wind wash barrier provides protection from air movement under the floor to ensure the high thermal performance of the insulation, R1.8 m2K/W, is not compromised. The rolls are 600mm wide and can be stapled in place to provide a high thermal solution for under floors that is quick and easy to install.
Another addition to the Earthwool glasswool range are skillion segments. The segments are 105mm thick and have a thermal rating of R3.2 m2K/W, and are ideal for fitting into skillion roofs with 140mm framing, allowing for a 25mm air gap above the insulation and below the roof. Skillion insulation segments can be installed from either above or below the roof by removing either the ceiling lining or replacing the roofing.
The wall range now includes R3.6 m2K/W, and R4.1 m2K/W, wall segments to fit 140mm framing. The high thermal rating for 140mm wall cavities helps to future-proof the home and contribute to super high thermal performance and protection from the external environment.
In 2010, Knauf Insulation introduced their revolutionary Earthwool glasswool insulation in New Zealand. The introduction of Earthwool glasswool provided Kiwi’s with a choice of insulation they had never experienced before and has set a benchmark for ease of use. Earthwool glasswool t is super-soft, easy to cut and install and has a level of sustainability never before achieved for glasswool insulation. Earthwool glasswool is made using recycled glass and with ECOSE® Technology, a revolutionary binder that contains no added formaldehyde. And thanks to compression technology, there is more product per pack, which means less deliveries and less storage required.
