Knauf Insulation is supporting the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) Awards in 2014 by sponsoring the Small to Medium Business category.

Organised by the New Zealand Government, EECA was set up to encourage and support energy efficiency, conservation and renewable energy. The Awards will honour a range of associations operating in the energy industry, from local community groups to large businesses. This year EECA have included a special one-off category recognising the achievements of the Christchurch Earthquake Recovery.

EECA Chief Executive Mike Underhill said: “We’re delighted that Knauf insulation has returned to sponsor the Small to Medium Business category in our 2014 EECA Awards. Smaller businesses are the engine of our economy. A lower carbon, energy-efficient small business sector can play a major role in boosting national competitiveness. In support this Award, Knauf Insulation is demonstrating its own leadership on energy efficiency and sustainability."

This year the event will take place at the Auckland Museum on Wednesday 28th May with an expected attendance of 400 guests. The finalists were announced early April with Eagle Airways, EcoSystems/Wellington St Properties, Gridspy and K&L Nurseries competing for the winning place in the Small to Medium Business category.

Knauf Insulation is committed to encouraging more energy efficient and sustainable homes, which is evident in their own community work, when they insulated Ophir, New Zealand's coldest town. Their approach to improving the efficiency of their manufacturing processes has also been documented in their annual Global Sustainability Reports for the past four years.
